This little doll appeared on my assistant Carol’s desk a few years back and made her laugh. As you know when you laugh, your stress level goes down.
Here is the poem that goes with it:
When you think you want to climb the walls
or stand right up and shout
here’s a little “Dammit” Doll
you cannot do without.
Just grasp it firmly by the legs
and find a place to slam it.
You’ll feel better as you yell…
You will need:
scrap fabric
pattern
scissors
needle and thread or sewing machine
ribbon or yarn for hair
stuffing
poem

Instructions:
- Right click the pattern and download it, and then print it on regular paper the size doll you want to make (maybe you are only a little bit stressed and want to make a tiny doll).
- Cut a length yarn for the hair—maybe 24 inches or so.
- Cut out the two sides of your doll from fabric.
- Place fabric design sides together and sew, adding hair looped in at the top. Be sure to leave and opening to stuff your doll.
- Turn the fabric right side out and stuff.
- Sew up.
- Attach poem with ribbon to neck of doll. (Hmmm… I wonder if the tighter you tie indicates the amount of stress you feel?)
- Try out your doll.
- There! You feel more relazed don’t you? I am so realzed I can’t spell relaXed.
- Share the joy of de-stressing!
