Okay, you do not have to be a party animal to make or wear this New Year’s Eve Hat, but my little party animal sure looks cute with it on!
You’ll begin with a sheet of Rowlux Illusion Film. It comes in 12 by 12 inch squares in a variety of colors and swirls.
I used a frying pan lid to trace the circle and I eyeballed the center and cut out a wedge, but you could certainly measure it.
I used a combo of E6000 Adhesive and staples to hold the plastic in a conical shape. I know with paper, I could have managed with glue and clipped it until it dried, but the Rowlux is a might slippery.
Next I took the hat outside and gave it a few random spritzes of glue, set it on last weeks’ news and poured silver glitter on it.
Embellish with some ribbon and lace — a chaotic sprout of fabric for the top and stapled rick-rack for the chin ties. I found measuring tape and cut it up to ring in the new year too!
Tip: I stapled the rick-rack on first and then added the white ribbon to cover the staples so there will not be any hair pulled.
Happy New Year!
Stay safe!
